Job Summary
We are seeking a Tool House Coordinator/Foreman to support our construction operations in Kailua, HI. This role is responsible for organizing and maintaining the PTS Oahu tool house/warehouse, managing inventory, repairing and servicing equipment, and supporting field crews with tools, materials, and shipments. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding position ideal for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with tools, equipment, and construction materials.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership regarding safety on the jobsite.
- Provide leadership regarding quality on the jobsite. Eliminates rejected or sloppy work.
- Perform projects under budget and on time consistently.
- Evaluate field employees and identify those who are candidates for promotion. Provides guidance and training to assist in their development. Communicates the employee evaluation information to Construction Managers and HR.
- Utilize experience and skills to identify opportunities for improvement of company practices and resources.
- Represent PTS in a professional, positive light to customers and employees. Build relationships with regional customers and provide customer feedback to PTS Project Management.
- Provide a positive contribution to the pre-construction planning effort.
- Communicate well with the support staff.
- Know and understand the estimated manhours and scope of projects prior to job start. Works with PM in tracking progress weekly (Field Labor Reports).
- Work with Safety Specialist, Construction Administration, and HR to assure that employees assigned to upcoming or ongoing work have received the necessary training and certifications.
- Complete all necessary paperwork ie – daily time sheets, safety and quality audits, customer-required paperwork, equipment inspections etc.
- Advise Project Management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties; assists in resolving such problems, as required.
- Provide complete, final, project paperwork.
- Assist Construction Managers and HR in recruiting field workers.
- Receive, inventory, replenish and load tool sets coming from and going to jobs.
- Oversee maintenance and eventual sale of all vehicles, trailers, tooling and equipment.
- Provide guidance and assist in specifying and purchasing new equipment
- Organize, inspect, repair, replenish warehouse items (both materials and tooling)
- Have great communication and organization skills.
- Have the ability to solve problems and suggest improvements to our systems.
- Have excellent attendance and show up to work on time every day.
- Have the willingness to learn. One of PTS’s greatest strengths is our ability to share information and skills.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Be willing to authorize background checks.
- Have no criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism.
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Be willing to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
- Be willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.
